And I'm excited to share the story behind Akua Villas Mentawai — a dream born from the hearts of two couples: Daniel and me (Rubi), and our dear friends Binho and Anriette. We're three surfers and one adventurous ballerina who also happens to take the best surf photos!

This journey began when Daniel and I decided to get married on a whim. Binho and Anriette were not only part of that special moment but fully embraced the adventure with us. Anriette even officiated our beautiful ceremony. From that celebration, the idea to create something meaningful in the Mentawai Islands came to life.

And so, Akua Villas Mentawai was born — inspired by the lifestyle and warmth we already offer at our Brazilian guesthouse, Akua Concept, located in Bahia. Our goal here is to bring a touch of Brazilian hospitality to the Mentawai, blending comfort, connection, and nature.
